With all this snow, we’re excited to invite you to the Brewery for Snow Day 2025. Join us from 11AM to 5PM on Saturday February 22. We’ve partnered with Dominion City Brewing to host a day of outdoor Winter adventure at the Brewery. There’ll be warm fires, delicious food, cold beer (as well as non-alcoholic options) and plenty of family-friendly outdoor activities.
Ski Heritage East will be on-site spreading the word about this incredible piece of volunteer-built community infrastructure and raising funds for the trail. Bring your skis! Or don’t! It’s a great day of Winter warmth at DCBC.
Join us for an evening of skiing, hot chocolate, camaraderie, and more at our Moonlight Ski event! Bring your Nordic skis, a reusable mug, a headlamp (if available), and make sure to dress warmly. All ages are welcome. 100% of funds raised will be donated to Ski Heritage East. Groomers from Ski Heritage East will be out in advance and the trails will be set for both classic and skate skiing.
The event is hosted by Convent Glen Orléans Wood Community Association and with support from Ski Heritage East, Ward 2 Councillor Laura Dudas, and Orleans Waxing Haus.
Ski Heritage East is holding our Annual Public Meeting on Monday, Nov 18th at 7 p.m., at Stray Dog Brewing Company (501 Lacolle Way Unit 4). Please join us to meet the volunteers that keep the Trail operating for your winter enjoyment (and maybe to enjoy a Stray Dog beer).
Mar-2025: Great News! We have reached our goal of $10K and purchased a gently used Skandic 900 Ace.
Our team then made all the necessary grooming modifications themselves bringing the total cost to $12,000 instead of the $24K for a new machine. These guys are great!
Thank you to all of our Ski Heritage East friends that have generously donated to gofundme. We are very close to covering the total cost of the new machine. If you have not donated yet or would like to give a little more, please do so this week. Your support is greatly appreciated by our team and the whole community.
You can access the trail from many locations along the Ottawa River in Ottawa’s east end. For directions and parking information consult the trail map or read the details here.
